Agreement
These Terms of Use govern your use of the Inventory Scanner iOS app. By downloading or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Short version: The app is free, it is a counting tool and not an accounting system, your data lives on your device so keeping your own CSV exports is your responsibility, and we can't be liable for business decisions made from a count.
Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Inventory Scanner on Apple devices you own or control, in line with the Usage Rules of the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. You may not sell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute the app, and you may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive its source code except where that restriction is prohibited by law.
Acceptable Use
Use the app lawfully. In particular, do not use it to store or process data you have no right to handle, do not attempt to disrupt or attack the app or the services it relies on, and do not use it in a way that infringes anyone else's rights.
Your Data and Backups
Inventory Scanner stores your sessions in a local database on your device. There is no cloud sync and no server-side copy — we hold no backup of your data and cannot recover it for you.
- Deleting the app deletes its local database and everything in it.
- Losing, resetting, or replacing your device means losing any sessions that were only on it.
- Exporting sessions to CSV is the supported way to keep your own copies. Doing so regularly is your responsibility.
What the App Is Not
Inventory Scanner is a counting and export tool. It is not an accounting system, an ERP, a point-of-sale system, or a system of record for tax, audit, or regulatory purposes. Barcode recognition depends on your camera, lighting, and label quality, and can misread or miss codes. Always verify counts before relying on them for financial, legal, or operational decisions.
Price and Purchases
The app is currently free to download and use, with no advertising and no subscription. We may introduce paid features in future versions; if we do, the terms will be shown to you before any purchase, and anything you already have will not be taken away retroactively. Purchases made through the App Store are handled by Apple and subject to Apple's refund policy.
Availability and Changes
We may update, change, or discontinue the app or any of its features at any time. Updates are distributed through the App Store; some updates may require a current iOS version or a supported device. We do not promise that the app will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free.
Disclaimer of Warranty
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost or corrupted data, business interruption, or inventory discrepancies arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Termination
You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it. We may suspend or end your licence if you breach these terms. The disclaimer, limitation of liability, and any other sections that by their nature should survive will continue to apply after termination.
Apple
This agreement is between you and us, not with Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
Privacy
Our handling of your data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Changes to These Terms
If these terms change materially, the update will be reflected on this page with a new "last updated" date, and announced in the app's release notes. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the revised terms.
